Committee notices

Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I nomination form and Division I nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Newly announced vacancies

The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancy is September 30, 1999.

Division I Men's and Women's Tennis Committee: Two interim vacancies. One appointee must represent the women's subcommittee and be from the Central region. One appointee must represent the men's subcommittee and be from regions 5, 6 or 7.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancy is October 11, 1999.

Women's Softball Rules Committee: Division I vacancy. The appointee will replace Joyce Compton, University of South Carolina, Columbia, not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be from Division I-AA.

Committee on Athletics Certification: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Garnett Purnell, Morgan State University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee may be from any subdivision.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancy is September 15, 1999.

Division I Financial Aid Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Dorothy Body, University of Maryland, Eastern Shore, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from Division I-AA.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancies is September 17, 1999.

Wrestling Committee (Division I): One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Mike Moyer, George Mason University, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from Division I and preferably from Division I-AAA.

Division I Baseball Committee: One vacancy. The appointee must be from the Northeast region and may be from any subdivision.

Men's and Women's Fencing Committee (Division I): Two (immediate) vacancies. The appointees will replace William Shipman, Brandeis University, and Zorum Tilum, Stanford University. Both appointees must represent men's fencing. One appointee must be from the Northeast region. Eligible divisions:
I-A, I-AA, I-AAA, II and III.

Division I Women's Lacrosse Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Diane Aikens, Loyola College (Maryland). The appointee must be from Division I-AA.

Division I Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Jill Sterkel, University of Texas at Austin. The appointee must be female and represent women's swimming interests.

Division I Men's Soccer Committee: One vacancy. The appointee must be from Division I-A. The appointee may be from any region and may either be a coach or an administrator.

Softball Rules Committee: One (immediate) vacancy. The appointee must be from Division I-AA and may be either a coach or an administrator.

Men's Gymnastics Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Greg Buwick, University of Oklahoma, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the West region.

Division II

Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II Nomination Form and Division II Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Men's Basketball Rules Committee: Division II vacancy. The appointee will replace Clint Bryant, Augusta State University, who has resigned from the committee.

Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Joe Jones, Cameron University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must represent women's tennis and be from the Midwest region.

Softball Rules Committee: One Division II vacancy. The appointee will replace Julie Garcia, Texas A&M University, Kingsville, who has resigned from the committee.

Division II Championships Committee: Three interim vacancies. The appointees will replace Joseph Donahue, California State University, Stanislaus; Sallie Dalton, University of Central Arkansas; and Gail Cummins-Danson, Albany State University, who resigned from the committee.

Division II Nominating Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Charles Bertram, deceased, formerly of Southern Indiana University.

Division II Football Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Larry Marfise, formerly of Ferris State University. The appointee must be from the Northeast region.

Division II Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee: Three vacancies. One appointee must be from the West region and two appointees may be from any region. At least one appointee must be a female administrator representing men's track and field. The remaining appointees must be athletics administrators.

Division II Women's Soccer Committee: Two interim vacancies. The appointees will replace Brian Dooley, Barry University, and Dana Kusjanovic, formerly of the University of Northern Colorado, who resigned from the committee. One appointee must be from the South region and one must be from the Midwest region. The appointees may be either an administrator or a coach.

Women's Basketball Rules Committee (Division II): One Division II vacancy. The appointee will replace Megan Henry, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from region 2 and may be either a coach or an administrator.

Division II Committee on Infractions: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace George W. Schubert, University of North Dakota, who resigned from the committee.

Women's Gymnastics Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Pat Panichas, Southern Connecticut State University. The appointee must be from Division II.

Division II Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Ronald Maestas, New Mexico Highlands University, who resigned from the committee.

Committee on Women's Athletics: One vacancy. The appointee must be a current Division II student-athlete.

National Youth Sports Program Committee: One vacancy. The appointee must be a current Division II student-athlete.

Olympic Sports Liaison Committee: One vacancy. The appointee must be a current Division II student-athlete.

Committee on Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct: One vacancy. The appointee must be a current Division II student-athlete.

Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports: One vacancy. The appointee must be a current Division II student-athlete.

Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee: One vacancy. The appointee must be a current Division II student-athlete.

Division III
