National Office Floor Plan




Overall office building size:

  • Approximately 310 feet long and 110 feet wide (virtually the size of a football field); approximate square footage is 140,000.

  • Four floors and a partial basement.

    FIRST FLOOR

  • Main entrance to office building through "rotunda" on southeast side.

  • Main reception desk for greeting visitors and visitor sign-in.

  • Atrium area is significant architectural feature of building.

  • Contains an auditorium, a multipurpose room, a number of meeting rooms of varying sizes, a receiving dock, a catering kitchen, locker rooms, a staff lounge/vending area, a nursing mothers' room and a sick room.

  • Large staircases on either side of the atrium will "invite" staff and visitors to use the stairs to access the upper floors.

  • Elevators and fire stairs are located on the east and west sides of the building.

  • Auditorium:

  • Sloped floor facility with permanent stage.

  • Classroom or lecture hall set-up accommodating up to 132 people.

  • Extensive computer and telephone connections provided throughout.

  • Control booth at south end of facility includes projector and all technology and audio-visual controls.

  • Facility will include normal "lecture hall" type equipment (for example, special lighting, voice amplification system, built-in projection screen) and will accommodate presentations using various methods (for example, videos, slides, PowerPoint).

  • Multipurpose room:

  • Room is approximately 3,000 square feet total, and can be divided into three rooms of about 1,000 square feet

  • When used as a single room, it will accommodate more than 300 people using theater seating.

  • East end of room will have built-in rear screen projection system.

  • When divided, each room will have computer and telephone connections for presentations and the ability for presentations to be made using videos, slides or PowerPoint.

  • Portable staging will be used when needed.

  • Meeting rooms:

  • Nine meeting rooms varying in size from accommodating six persons to approximately 24 persons.

  • All rooms will be have computer, telephone and cable television connections.

  • Large meeting room on the west side will have built-in projection and videoconference equipment; all other meeting rooms will use portable projection and video conference equipment when desired or necessary

  • Catering kitchen will enable prepared food to be brought in as necessary.

    BASEMENT

  • Located under the western third of the office building and under the entire Hall of Champions.

  • Will house main mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the office building and Hall of Champions.

  • Will also contain information services equipment; work stations for selected information services and building services staff; computer training classroom; business center, including help desk, various storage areas, videotape library, furniture/office equipment repair shop; and an incoming mail processing area.

  • Business center will function similar to a hotel business center, supporting the day-to-day needs of staff and committee members visiting the headquarters. Duplicating services, mail, luggage storage, shipping and other services will be provided.

    OFFICE SPACE

    (Second, third and fourth floors)

    Common features on all three floors:

  • Each floor will have conference and meeting rooms of various sizes.

  • Each floor will have two kitchens.

  • Each floor will have a reception/waiting area on the east side by the main staircase.

  • Adjacent to each kitchen area will be mail drops and office supply depots.

  • Each floor will have several areas to be used for private meetings, telephone calls or when a staff member needs a quiet, private space to work on a specific task.

  • Each floor is the same size (approximately 35,000 gross square feet) and shape. However, considering the space needed for the atrium on each floor, there is less office space on each floor as one goes up (that is, the third floor has less office space than the second floor, and the fourth floor has less office space than the third floor).

    SECOND FLOOR

  • Will house enforcement/student-athlete reinstatement group, public affairs group and education services group.

  • Access to the National Federation of State High School Associations will be on this floor via a bridge connecting the NFHS and the office building.

    THIRD FLOOR

  • Will house finance and information services group, human resources staff, Committee on Infractions staff, and the membership services group.

  • Will also house Worldtek Travel staff, including meeting planners.

  • Will provide office-type space for committee members and other individuals who are visiting the headquarters. This space will have telephone and computer connections for those visitors to make phone calls, check voicemail and get connected back to their offices as necessary.

    FOURTH FLOOR

  • Will house the championships group; the marketing, licensing and promotions group; the governance staff; the NCAA Foundation staff; the general counsel staff; and the president and senior vice-presidents.

  • Will feature an outdoor terrace on the east end.
