Division III Softball

Field: The championship field is 40 teams. Five teams will compete at each of eight regional sites in a double-elimination format. Winners of the regionals will advance to an eight-team, double-elimination final.

Dates and sites: Regional play will be May 14-17, and the finals will be May 20-24 at Carson Park in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Championship notes: The College of New Jersey has appeared in every championship and owns more titles than any other squad with six ... Defending champion Wisconsin-Stevens Point lost more games before claiming the 1998 title than any other championship squad in tournament history ... After qualifying for the NCAA championship for the first time in 1995 and winning the title, Chapman has appeared in three of the last four title games.
