Division II Softball

Field: The championship field is 32 teams. Four teams will participate at each of eight regional sites in a double-elimination format. Winners of the regionals will advance to an eight-team, double-elimination final.

Dates and sites: Regional play is scheduled for May 14-15 on the campus of competing institutions. The finals will be at the James I. Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Virginia, May 20-24.

Championship notes: Bloomsburg has appeared in 16 tournaments, more than any other contender, but never has claimed the title ... California (Pennsylvania) is looking for its third consecutive championship, a feat that has been accomplished twice in Division II softball ... Cal State Northridge won three straight from 1983-1985, and Cal State Bakersfield did it from 1988-1990.
