Division II Men's Outdoor Track and Field

Field: The Division II Championships Committee has approved a qualifying procedure that allows for a maximum of 236 student-athletes.

Dates and site: May 27-29 at Emporia State.

Results will be published in the June 7 issue of The NCAA News.

Championships notes: The team championship has been the property of either Abilene Christian or St. Augustine's since 1982. St. Augustine's posted its eighth title with a 17-point victory over runner-up Abilene Christian in 1998. With nine crowns, Abilene Christian still holds the edge in that department over St. Augustine's and also leads in individual championships with 71 to St. Augustine's 55 ... In the previous 36 championships, no competitor has won three events in the same meet. The list of double winners is now 45.
