Spring Championships Preview -- Division II Men's Golf

Field: A total of 45 teams will be selected for regional competition, with 18 teams and three individuals advancing to the championships.

Dates and sites: Three regionals will be conducted May 3-5. Host institutions are Concord (North), Presbyterian (South) and Grand Canyon (West). The championship finals will be held May 18-21 at the Valdosta Country Club in Valdosta, Georgia. Valdosta State will serve as host.

Regional results will appear in the May 24 issue of The NCAA News. Championships results will be published in the June 7 issue.

Championships notes: Florida Southern captured its division-leading ninth title and third in the last four seasons in the 1998 championships. Columbus State took second place, finishing seven shots behind the Moccasins ... West Florida's Orjan Larsen took the individual title, posting a four-round total of 280.
