Spring Championships Preview -- Division I Men's Golf

Field: A total of 324 participants will be selected for regional competition, with 30 teams and 156 players advancing to the championship finals.

Dates and sites: The following regionals will be conducted May 20-22: East (Rhode Island Country Club, Providence, Rhode Island; Rhode Island, host); Central (Scarlet Course, Columbus, Ohio; Ohio State, host); and West (Tucson National Resort, Tucson, Arizona; Arizona, host). Minnesota will host the championship finals June 2-5 at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.

Championships notes: UNLV won last season's title, edging Clemson by three strokes ... Minnesota sophomore James McLean won last year's individual title, finishing one stroke better than four golfers ... Georgia, UNLV, Clemson, Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State have been mainstays atop the rankings this year.
