Marketing group creates postgraduate scholarship program
The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) has initiated a new postgraduate scholarship program.
The NACMA Postgraduate Scholarship Awards will be presented to senior students who intend to pursue a graduate degree in athletics administration, with a focus on collegiate marketing.
Each of the five annual recipients will receive a $1,000 grant. The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Foundation will administer the program.
Nominations currently are being solicited for the inaugural year of the program.
The first recipients will receive their awards at NACMA's eighth annual workshop, June 12-13, at the Reno Hilton in Reno, Nevada. The awards will be presented at a luncheon on Sunday, June 13.
Full-time seniors, or graduate students enrolled in a sports administration program at the time of nomination, who intend to pursue a career within the collegiate marketing realm of athletics administration are eligible for these awards. Students must have a minimum undergraduate grade-point average of 3.000 (4.000 scale) and be nominated by a NACMA-member institution.
NACMA, founded in 1990, serves to foster the highest possible professional and ethical standards, while providing athletics marketing and promotions practitioners a broad range of professional advancement opportunities.
It is NACMA's mission to improve the overall understanding and effectiveness of the athletics marketing and promotions profession while upholding the ideals of higher education.
Since its inception, NACMA's membership has increased to nearly 500 intercollegiate marketing administrators.
