Committee notices

Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I Nomination Form and Division I Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).

Previously listed vacancies

The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancy is March 26, 1999.

Division I Women's Basketball Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Kathy Noble, who will resign from the committee, effective May 1, due to her move to Georgia Institute of Technology.

A total of four vacancies exists on the committee. Two of the appointees must be from Division I-A and two must be from Division I-AA and/or Division I-AAA. One of the appointees must be from the West region and one must be from the Midwest region. The other two appointees will be at-large; however, it is preferred that one be from the East region. Nominations for all four vacancies are now being accepted. Individuals who previously submitted nomination materials will remain in the pool of candidates. It is anticipated that the Championships/Competition Cabinet will make the appointments this spring. Eligible subdivisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA.

Division I Women's Soccer Committee: A total of four vacancies exists on the committee. Three of the appointees must be from Division I-A and one must be from Division I-AA or Division I-AAA. One of the appointees must be from the Southeast region. It is preferred that the other appointees be from the Central, Great Lakes or Mid-Atlantic regions. Active women's soccer coaches are encouraged to apply. Individuals who previously submitted nomination materials will remain in the pool of candidates. Eligible subdivisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA.

Division II

Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II Nomination Form and Division II Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).

Division II Academic Requirements Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Carol Dunn, California State University, Los Angeles, who resigned from the committee.

Division II Women's Basketball Committee: One vacancy. The appointee must be from the South region.

Division II Women's Softball Committee: A total of three vacancies exists on the committee.

One appointee must be from the North Central region, one must be from the Mid-Atlantic region, and one must be from the South Central region. At least one of the appointees must be an athletics administrator. Nominations for all three vacancies are now being accepted. Individuals who previously submitted nomination materials will remain in the pool of candidates.

Division II Women's Volleyball Committee: One vacancy. The appointee must be from the Atlantic region.

Division III:

Division III individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division III. A Division III Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).

Division III Men's Soccer Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Jeffrey Vennell, University of Rochester, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the Northeast region and may not be from the University Athletic Association.

Division III Men's Soccer Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Dick Whitmore, Colby College, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the Metro region and may not be from the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
