Championships notes: Abilene Christian made it a Division II men's-women's indoor track sweep for the third consecutive year, and sixth time overall, with a 23-point victory in 1998. The Wildcats have won six straight titles and 10 in the last 11 years. Abilene Christian also owns a commanding lead in the individual championship category with 38, compared to St. Augustine's second-place total of 16 ... South Dakota's second-place finish last year was its best in the 13-year history of the championships. The Coyotes' performance was largely due to Elena Swan, who accounted for 22 of her team's 43 points by winning the long and triple jumps, and finishing fifth in the 55-meter hurdles. Swan became just the ninth competitor in the championship to win two events in the same meet.
