Championships notes: It has been nearly total domination by Arkansas since 1984. The Razorbacks have won 14 of the last 15 titles, with a championship by George Mason in 1996 the only interruption. Arkansas' winning margin has been 27 points or more six times. With 14 first-place finishes, Arkansas has twice as many championships as any other institution. UTEP is second on the list of winners with seven. Those two schools are tied for the top spot in individual championships with 38, with Villanova next with 33 ... Only one of the six field-events records has been broken in the 1990s. In contrast, two new marks were set on the track in 1998 ... Arkansas' Robert Howard became just the 19th competitor in the 34-year history of the championship to win the same event three times when he captured the triple jump last year.
