Committee notices
Division I
Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I Nomination Form and Division I Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).
Newly announced vacancies
The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancy is February 15, 1999.
Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Ida Neal-Smith, formerly of Georgia Institute of Technology. The appointee must be an ethnic minority. Eligible subdivisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA.
Division II
Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II Nomination Form and Division II Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).

The appointee must be from the Midwest region and must be an athletics administrator.

Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Nicholas Evanich, Marietta College, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be male and may not be from the following conferences: Empire Athletic, Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic, Massachusetts State College Athletic, Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic, New England Small College Athletic, New Jersey Athletic, Ohio Athletic, Skyline, Southern Collegiate or Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic.

Division III Baseball Committee: Two vacancies. One appointee must be from the Midwest region and one must be from the Mid-Atlantic region. One of the appointees must be an athletics administrator who does not coach baseball. Neither appointee may be from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference or the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Division III Women's Basketball Committee: One vacancy. The appointee must be from the Great Lakes region and must be an athletics administrator who does not coach women's basketball. The appointee may not be from the University Athletic Association.
Division III Women's Field Hockey Committee: Two vacancies. One appointee must be from the North Atlantic region and one must be from the South Atlantic region. Neither of the appointees may be from the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Conference or the Middle Atlantic States Conference.
Divisions II/III Women's Golf Committee: One vacancy. The Division III appointee must be from the West golf district.
Division III Men's Soccer Committee: Two vacancies. One appointee must be from the Mid-Atlantic region and one must be from the West region. Neither of the appointees may be from the Centennial Conference or the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Division III Women's Softball Committee: Two vacancies. One appointee must be from the East region and one must be from the Central region. At least one of the appointees must be an athletics administrator who does not coach women's softball. Neither of the appointees may be from the Middle Atlantic States Conference or the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Division III Men's and Women's Tennis Committee: Two vacancies. One appointee must represent men's tennis and must be from the West region. One appointee must represent women's tennis and must be from the South region. At least one of the appointees must be an athletics administrator who does not coach tennis. Neither of the appointees may be from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference or the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Division III Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee: Two vacancies. One appointee must represent men's track and one must represent women's track. One appointee must be from the Midwest region and one must be from the New York region. Neither of the appointees may be from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference or the University Athletic Association.
Memorial Resolutions Committee: One Division III vacancy.

Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee: Matthew Lee, men's basketball student-athlete, Bradley University, representing the Missouri Valley Conference, replacing Daniel Muller, Illinois State University; Lindsey Yedinak, women's swimming student-athlete, Southern Methodist University, representing the Western Athletic Conference, replacing Myron L. Terry, Colorado State University.
Division III Interpretations and Legislation Committee: Lon Boike, director of athletics, Clarke College, replacing Richard A. Johanningmeier.
