Nominations for women's, minority programs sought

Information on both the NCAA's Women's Enhancement and Ethnic-Minority Enhancement postgraduate scholarship programs is now available.

Nomination folders for both types of scholarships recently were sent to the membership.

Now in their 12th year, the programs are aimed toward increasing opportunities for women and ethnic minorities in intercollegiate athletics through postgraduate scholarships.

The NCAA's Committee on Women's Athletics and Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee will select individuals who express an interest in preparing for a professional career in administration of athletics and present them with a one-year scholarship valued at $6,000.

Applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree and have been accepted into a sports administration program or a related program that will assist the applicants in obtaining a career in athletics.

For additional scholarship information, contact Donnetta Moorman, NCAA coordinator of the professional development program, at the national office (913/339-1906).
