Committee notices
Any division
The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancy is December 4, 1998.
Men's and Women's Fencing Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Jeffrey Eisen, formerly of the University of Detroit, Mercy, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must represent women's fencing and must be an athletics administrator. The appointee must be from the Midwest region. Eligible divisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA, II, III.
Division I
Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I Nomination Form and Division I Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).

The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancy is November 30, 1998.
Men's and Women's Rifle Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Judith D. Bishop, formerly of Marquette University, who resigned from the committee. Eligible subdivision: I-A.
Division II
Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II Nomination Form and Division II Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).

The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancies is December 4, 1998.
Division II Women's Volleyball Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Kelly Van Winden, Sonoma State University, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the Pacific region.
Division II Women's Soccer Committee: Oneinterim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Denise O'Grady, University of Northern Colorado, who accepted a position at the NCAA national office. The appointee must be from the Midwest region and must be an athletics administrator.
Committee on Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct: One Division II interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Ed Harris, West Texas A&M University, who was appointed to the Division II Management Council, effective January 1999. The appointee must be from Division II.
Division III
Division III individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division III. A Division III Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).

Division III Men's Golf Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Thomas Cafaro, Nichols College, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from men's golf district 1 (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont), and must be a coach. The appointee may not be from the Commonwealth Coast Conference.

The following individuals have recently been selected to fill vacancies on various NCAA committees and/or cabinets. Please make the appropriate changes in the 1998-99 NCAA Committee Directory.
Core-Course Review Committee: Alan J. Hauser, Appalachian State University, named chair.
Men's and Women's Skiing Committee: George Brooks, University of New Mexico, named chair.
Division I Championships/Competition Cabinet: J.R. "Bobby" May, director of athletics, Rice University, replacing Chris Hill, University of Utah, Western Athletic Conference representative.
Division I Strategic Planning Cabinet: Joseph Helmick, faculty athletics representative, Texas Christian University, replacing Barbara Lockhart, Brigham Young University, Western Athletic Conference representative.
Reminder
Nominations for vacancies that will occur in September 1999 on Divisions I and II general committees and Divisions I, II and III sports committees, as well as Association-wide and common committees, are due November 20.
Each division's nominees for division-specific and Association-wide and common committees will be considered through the processes that have been established in each division for filling committee vacancies.
Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, NCAA committee coordinator, at the national office.
