Division III Women's Cross Country

Field: A total of 184 individual competitors will be selected. Twenty-one teams of seven individuals -- with at least one team from each of eight regions -- plus 37 individuals (at least three from each region) will make up the field.

Dates and sites: Regional qualifying at eight sites will be November 14. The championships will be November 21 at Dickinson.

Championships notes: Cortland State upped its division-leading total of championships to seven with last year's title .... All seven winning efforts have come since 1989, including four straight from 1992 through 1995 .... The other three championships in the last decade have been won by Wisconsin-Oshkosh .... Cortland State's total of 148 points in 1997 was the first time the champion's score reached triple digits .... In the past seven years, the individual winners have come from seven different schools .... Cortland State and Wisconsin-Oshkosh are tied for the lead in top-five finishes with 12, with St. Thomas (Minnesota) next with 11.
