Division III Men's Cross Country

Field: A total of 184 individual competitors will be selected. Twenty-one teams of seven individuals -- with at least one team from each of eight regions -- plus 37 individuals (at least three from each region) will make up the field.

Dates and sites: Regional qualifying at eight sites will be November 14. The championships will be November 21 at Dickinson.

Championships notes: North Central became only the fifth Division III program to win 10 team titles in a sport by edging Mount Union, 94-96, last year .... The Cardinals are the only school to qualify for all 25 Division III championships and have 11 second-place and three third-place finishes to go along with their titles .... Brandeis is second on the championships appearances list with 20, and 13 other schools have qualified for at least half of the championships .... The two-point victory in 1997 was the narrowest winning margin in the championships .... Only twice in the first 25 championships has the individual winner been a member of the team champion .... Dickinson is hosting the championships for the first time.
