Committee notices

Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I Nomination Form and Division I Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).

Previously listed vacancies

The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancy is November 30, 1998.

Men's and Women's Rifle Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Judith D. Bishop, formerly of Marquette University, who resigned from the committee. Eligible subdivision: I-A.

The following individuals have recently been selected to fill vacancies on various NCAA committees. Please make the appropriate changes in the 1998-99 NCAA Committee Directory.

Division I Infractions Appeals Committee: Terry Don Phillips, Oklahoma State University.

Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee: Megan Canova, University of California Davis, representing the California Collegiate Athletic Association; Nicholas Clark, Adelphi University, representing the New York Collegiate Conference; and Kimberly L. Brummer, University of Nebraska at Kearney, representing the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Division III Baseball Committee: Michael F. Walsh, Washington and Lee University.

Division II Women's Basketball Committee: Sandy Thomas, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, replacing David Raymond Smith, Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.

Division III Men's Basketball Committee: Thomas A. Hart, Webster University.

Division III Women's Basketball Committee: Nancy W. Blank, Johns Hopkins University; and Louise T. McCleary, Vassar College.

Division II Field Hockey Committee: Sandy Miller, East Stroudsburg University; and Betty Wesner, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.

Divisions II and III Women's Golf Committee: Gil Cloud, Northeastern State University; and Samuel L. Lesseig, Truman State University.

Division III Women's Lacrosse Committee: Dana L. Harmon, Wellesley College.

Men's and Women's Rifle Committee: Michael T. Hourigan, Norwich University.

Division II Women's Soccer Committee: Robert E. Hartwell, Adelphi University; Donna M. Guimont, Saint Anselm College; and Brian D. Dooley, Barry University.

Division III Women's Soccer Committee: Susan A. Hoffman, State University of New York at Brockport, replacing Kristen Ford, Ithaca College.

Division II Women's Softball Committee: Brian DeMasters, Queens College (New York).

Division III Men's and Women's Tennis Committee: Patricia S. Epps, Franklin & Marshall College.

Division II Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee: Richard D. Clay, University of North Dakota.

Division III Women's Volleyball Committee: Peg Worthington, Gallaudet University.

Reminder

Nominations for vacancies that will occur in September 1999 on Divisions I and II general committees and Divisions I, II and III sports committees, as well as Association-wide and common committees, are due November 20.

Each division's nominees for division-specific and Association-wide and common committees will be considered through the processes that have been established in each division for filling committee vacancies.
