Date changed for qualifying

Head coaches of NCAA Division I outdoor track and field teams should be aware of a date change regarding qualifying for the 1999 championships at Boise State University.

Institutions wishing to conduct a final-qualifying meet from May 17 through May 22 must submit a request to the NCAA. In a September mailing from Lynn King, chair of the NCAA Track and Field Committee, the concluding date for that period was listed as May 21.

The deadline to submit requests to conduct outdoor final-qualifying meets is January 1, 1999. That date is two months earlier than in previous years.
