Division I -- Notes

Sports sponsorship: The University of Findlay plans to reclassify its men's ice hockey program from Division II to Division I, making it potentially eligible to participate for Division I play during the 2001-02 season. The move follows similar reclassifications made by hockey programs at Bemidji State University and the University of Alabama, Huntsville. In addition, Findlay will add a women's ice hockey team that will apply to compete in Division I during the 1999-2000 season. The addition of the women's program, as well as the reclassification of both programs to Division I, coordinate with the school's new Wilbur and Maxine Clauss Ice Arena, which is part of the school's recreation center currently being constructed on campus.
