Facilities: A new athletics training facility will be constructed at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, in memory of Victor F. Swyden, a former Kansas City councilman who was instrumental in UMKC's move to Division I 13 years ago. The facility will be built in UMKC's Swinney Recreation Center and will support more than 180 student-athletes across 16 varsity sports.

Sports sponsorship: Quinnipiac College has announced that its 18-sport athletics program will be elevated to Division I.
