Division II -- Spikeless shoes to be required in II men's golf

The Division II Men's Golf Committee, meeting July 14-16 in Kansas City, Missouri, voted to recommend the use of "spikeless" shoes for participants in all regional and final rounds of next year's championships and to require teams selected for the championships to stay in the hotel accommodations designated by the host institution.

The committee also voted to recommend Valdosta State University as host for the 1999 championships and submitted Presbyterian College as host for the South regional, Grand Canyon University for the West regional and Concord College for the North regional.

The committee is soliciting bids to host the 2000 and 2001 championships.
