The old college try

Duke University golfer Jenny Chuasiriporn and her brother and caddie, Joey, react July 5 after Jenny sank a 40-foot putt to force a playoff for the women's U.S. Open Championship. Chuasiriporn, who finished fifth at the NCAA Division I Women's Championships in May, eventually lost the playoff in sudden death to professional Se Ri Pak. It was a big year for Atlantic Coast Conference golfers in major championships: Matt Kuchar of the Georgia Institute of Technology, the U.S. amateur champion, finished 21st at the Masters and 14th at the men's U.S. Open.
