Nominations are being accepted for the following interim (immediate) committee vacancies and vacancies with terms beginning September 1, 1998.

Newly announced vacancies
The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancy is July 24, 1998.
Honors Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace George Raveling. The appointee must be a nationally distinguished citizen and does not have to be currently affiliated with an NCAA institution or conference. Eligible divisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA, II, III.
Division I
Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I Nomination Form and Division I Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).
Newly announced vacancies
The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancies is July 24, 1998.
Honors Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Julie Riccardelli, formerly of Brown University, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from Division I-AA. Eligible subdivision: I-AA.
Core-Course Review Committee: Two immediate vacancies. One appointee will serve on the social science subcommittee and one on the English subcommittee. The Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet, which appoints the Division I members of the Core-Course Review Committee, specifically is seeking faculty members with recent experience in either social sciences or English. The cabinet also hopes to increase the diversity of the pool of nominees. Eligible subdivisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA.
Postgraduate Scholarship Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy.
The appointee will replace Chet Gladchuk, University of Houston, who resigned from the committee. Eligible subdivisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA.

Division I Women's Softball Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Peggy Kellers, University of Virginia, who resigned from the committee. The appointee preferably will be from the South region. Eligible subdivisions: I-A, I-AA.
Division II
Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II Nomination Form and Division II Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Division II Women's Basketball Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace David Smith, Ship-pensburg University of Pennsylvania, who resigned from the committee. The appointee preferably will be from the East region.
Division III
Division III individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division III. A Division III Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).

Division III Baseball Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Michael C. Fox, North Carolina Wesleyan University, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the South region and must be an athletics administrator who does not coach baseball. The appointee may not be from the Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Division III Women's Soccer Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Kristen M. Ford, Ithaca College, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the New York region and must be an athletics administrator who does not coach women's soccer. The appointee may not be from the Empire Athletic Association.
Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee: one interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Gregory Spotti, Waynesburg College. The appointee must be male and may not be from the following conferences: Commonwealth Coast Conference, Empire Athletic Conference, Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference, Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, New England Small College Athletic Conference, North Coast Conference, Presidents' Athletic Conference, Southern Collegiate Conference, University Athletic Association.

Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Gregory M. Spotti, Waynesburg College. The appointee must be male and must be a current Division III student-athlete. The appointee may not be from the Commonwealth Coast Conference, Empire Athletic Conference, Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference, Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, New England Small College Athletic Conference, North Coast Athletic Conference, Presidents' Athletic Conference, Southern Collegiate Conference, or the University Athletic Association.
