NCAA certifies nine men's, five women's basketball events

The Association has certified another 14 basketball events-- nine for men and five for women -- in accordance with legislation regulating Division I men's and women's basketball coaches' attendance year-round at camps and other activities.

In accordance with NCAA Bylaw 13.13.5, basketball coaches at Division I institutions may attend only institutional basketball camps as defined in Bylaw 13.13.1.1 and noninstitutional organized events -- such as camps, leagues, tournaments and festivals -- certified under Bylaw 30.16.

A complete list of certified basketball events can be obtained from the NCAA Fax-on-Demand System by dialing 770/399-3060 (passcode 1925) and selecting request number 1120.

Previously certified events were published in the April 20 and 27; May 4 , 11 and 25; and June 1 issues of The NCAA News.

Further information about certification can be obtained from Doug Archie, NCAA membership services representative, at the national office.
