Lander's dynasty in II men's tennis continues with sixth straight title
Lander continued its dominance in Division II men's tennis by capturing its sixth consecutive NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championship May 8-11 at the Cooper Tennis Center in Springfield, Missouri.
Lander, which began competing as an NCAA member institution in 1992-93, defeated Barry in the title match, 5-1.
The Senators started quickly, winning two of the three doubles matches. Frank Potthoff, Jan Grueninger and Erik Friberg then won their singles matches to clinch the title.
Lander advanced to the title match by defeating Hawaii-Hilo, Central Oklahoma and Florida Southern in the preliminary rounds.
The Senators completed a 20-0 campaign and join Southern Illinois-Edwardsville as the only team to win six consecutive titles.
