Committee notices
Nominations are being accepted for the following interim (immediate) committee vacancies and vacancies with terms beginning September 1, 1998. All of the vacancies previously have been listed in The NCAA News.
Division I
Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I Nomination Form and Division I Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).
Previously listed vacancies
The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancy is April 24, 1998.
Men's and Women's Fencing Committee: One vacancy. Appointee will replace Merry Ormsby, Columbia University-Barnard College, not eligible for reappointment. Appointee must represent women's fencing and must be from the Northeast region. Eligible subdivisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA.
Division II
Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II Nomination Form and Division II Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).
Previously listed vacancies
The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancies is April 24, 1998.
Division II Women's Basketball Committee: One vacancy. The Division II Nominating Committee has authorized an additional call for nominations for this position, due to a small number of nominations previously submitted. The appointee will replace Pam Gill-Fisher, University of California, Davis, not eligible for reappointment. The appointee preferably will be from the West region and may not be from the Northern California Athletic Conference.
Divisions II and III Women's Golf Committee: One interim vacancy. Appointee will replace Julie Garner, formerly of Rollins College, no longer at a Division II institution. Appointee preferably will be from the West golf district and must be an athletics administrator.
Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Committee: One vacancy. Appointee will replace Frances Nee, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must represent men's swimming interests and must be an athletics administrator.
Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee: Four vacancies (including two interim vacancies).
One immediate appointee will replace Andreas Koth, Armstrong Atlantic State University, who resigned from the committee; one immediate appointee will fill an additional position created on the committee with the adoption of 1998 Convention Proposal No. 19. Both immediate appointees must be athletics administrators who represent women's tennis. One must be from the South region and one from the West region. At least one of the immediate appointees must be female.
