Participants will be able to direct questions to a panel of experts from the NCAA and the high-school community. The discussion will be conducted from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Eastern time). Topics to be addressed in-clude NCAA initial-eligibility standards, NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse procedures, new core-course review procedures and accom-modations for students with learning disabilities.
Panelists from the NCAA staff will include membership services staff members Diane E. Dickman, Carolayne E. Henry, Stacey F. Karpinski, Kevin C. Lennon and Robert A. Oliver. In addition, a representative from a state high-school association will participate.
The satellite coordinates for the high-school session will be Telestar 4, transponder 09 (C-Band Satellite), Orbital Position 89 degrees, Bandwidth 36 MHz, uplink frequency 6105 MHz horizontal, and downlink frequency 3880 MHz vertical. The program can be picked up only through the use of a steerable or moveable satellite dish (not DirecTV or similar services). Telephone numbers for troubleshooting are 816/753-0020, 816/753-4650 and 816/753-6015.
A similar videoconference for Divisions I and II institutions will be conducted in April. The primary focus of that videoconference will be to review new legislation and to discuss applicable interpretations.
