Committee notices

Nominations are being solicited for committee vacancies in Divisions I and III, as follows:

Division I

Division I conferences listed in Constitution 4.2.1 are invited to submit nominations for the following committee vacancies. Both a completed nomination form and nominee information form must be received by Julie Quickel, NCAA committee coordinator, at the national office by the close of business November 17, 1997 (fax number 913/339-0035).

Nominations will be compiled by Quickel and submitted to the appropriate appointing body in the Division I governance structure. Eligible subdivisions are indicated in the following listings; an individual nominee's subdivision is determined by the subdivision classification of the conference that represents the nominee's institution in the governance structure.

Men's Gymnastics Committee: One Division I vacancy. Appointee must be from the West gymnastics region. Appointee can be from Division I-A, I-AA or I-AAA.

Women's Lacrosse Committee: One Division I vacancy. Appointee preferably will be from the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic region. Appointee can be from Division I-A, I-AA or I-AAA.

Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Committee: One interim Division I vacancy. Appointee will replace Kevin McNamee, George Mason University, resigned from the committee. Appointee must represent men's swimming. Appointee can be from Division I-A, I-AA or I-AAA.

Division I Women's Basketball Committee: One interim vacancy. Appointee will replace E. Kaye Hart, formerly of Austin Peay State University, no longer eligible to represent the Mideast region. Appointee preferably will be from the Mideast region. Appointee must be from Division I-AA or I-AAA.

Division III

Division III institutions are invited to submit nominations for the following committee vacancy. Written nominations to fill the vacancy and nominee information forms must be received by Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, in the national office by the close of business November 17, 1997 (fax 913/339-0035).

Self-nominations are encouraged, as well as nominations by peers. The nominee information form will be faxed to each nominee.

Division III Women's Softball Committee: One vacancy (new position). Appointee must be from the West softball region. The Division III Nominating Committee is seeking to increase the pool of current active softball coaches.
