Hudson, Ruskamp leaving Divisions I, III staffs
Jacqueline G. Hudson and Marybeth Ruskamp, assistant chiefs of staff for Divisions I and III, respectively, recently announced their resignations from the national office staff.
Hudson, Division I assistant chief of staff since March 1996, will resign her position in September to join the Atlantic 10 Conference as assistant commissioner for compliance. Ruskamp will leave the staff at the end of September to spend more time with her family.
Hudson
Hudson joined the NCAA staff in September 1991 as a legislative assistant.
Before joining the NCAA, she was an administrative assistant to the director of athletics at the University of Pittsburgh.
Hudson attended the University of Virginia, where she received a bachelor of science degree in commerce. While at Virginia, she earned letters in basketball and field hockey.
She went on to earn a master's degree in sports management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
In her role as a legislative assistant, she was a staff liaison to the Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee and the Council Subcommittee on Initial-Eligibility Waivers.
As Division I assistant chief of staff, she has been instrumental in the implementation of the new governance structure in that division, working closely with the Division I Board of Directors and the Division I Management Council. She also has served as primary staff liaison to the Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet.
Ruskamp
Ruskamp was appointed Division III assistant chief of staff in March 1996. She joined the NCAA staff as a legislative assistant in July 1990, shortly after graduating from the University of Nebraska law school. She also earned her undergraduate degree at Nebraska, where she lettered on the women's gymnastics team.
As a legislative assistant, she worked with the Olympic Sports Liaison Committee, Council Subcommittee on Initial-Eligibility Waivers and Foreign Student Record Consultants.
In her role as Division III assistant chief of staff, Ruskamp has been involved in assisting with the implementation of the new governance structure in that division. She has served as recording secretary for the Division III Management Council and the Division III Presidents Council and has worked closely with committee and staff coordination in Division III.
