Committee notices

Institutions are being asked to submit nominations for the following vacancies on sports committees. Written nominations to fill the vacancies must be received by Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, in the NCAA national office by the close of business July 3, 1997 (fax 913/339-0035). Self-nominations are encouraged, as well as nominations by peers. Nominees will receive an information form, which must be returned by July 18.

Men's and Women's Rifle Committee: One Division II position, with no regional or district requirements. Nominees are sought to replace Terri Howes, a Division I representative. New legislation requires the committee to have all divisions represented and there currently is no Division II representative.

Men's and Women's Skiing Committee: One Division III position. Appointee must be female.

Division II Women's Soccer Committee: One position, to replace Elizabeth A. Alden, who is no longer at a Division II institution. Appointee must be an athletics administrator (who also may be a coach), preferably from the West region.

Division III Women's Soccer Committee: One position, to replace Gail Murphy, who resigned from the committee. Appointee may be a coach or an administrator and must be from the South women's soccer region.

Division III Women's Volleyball Committee: One position, to replace Geraldine Knortz, no longer at a member institution. Knortz's term was to begin September 1. Appointee must be from the New York region.
