List of potential sites narrowed for future Women's Final Fours
Five cities in running for 2001 or 2002 events
The NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee has narrowed the list of potential sites for the 2001 or 2002 Women's Final Four from 16 down to five.
Those sites are Kiel Center, St. Louis; the Ice Palace, Tampa, Florida; Nashville Arena, Nashville, Tennessee; the RCA Dome, Indianapolis; and the Alamodome, San Antonio.
The committee's site-selection subcommittee and NCAA staff will visit the five cities during April and May. After the visits, the subcommittee will determine which cities to invite to make presentations at the Division I Women's Basketball Committee's June 23-27 meeting in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The committee will make a decision on the sites for 2001 and 2002 at that meeting and will announce the decision shortly thereafter.
The 1998 Women's Final Four will be held in Kemper Arena, Kansas City, Missouri. The 1999 Women's Final Four goes to the San Jose Arena in San Jose, California, and the 2000 Women's Final Four will be held in The CoreStates Center in Philadelphia.
