They had 19 losses between them, but that didn't keep Arizona and Tennessee from ruling the I men's, women's basketball worlds
It was the year of the underdog at the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Basketball Championships, beginning with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, which captured its second consecutive women's title. Niya Butts (right) scored eight points in the title game for the Lady Volunteers, who were led by all-American Chamique Holdsclaw's 24 points. A youthful University of Arizona squad, led by Miles Simon (above, with ball), upset three No. 1 seeds on its way to the men's Final Four crown. See championships stories beginning on page 8.
