Initial-eligibility information
Administrators at high schools across the country should by now have received the NCAA's "New Game Plan Packet" of information relating to initial-eligibility standards. The packet, which should have arrived via mail during the first week of March, includes information about the NCAA's new core-course review process; the 48-H form for each high school, confirming which of the school's courses currently meet NCAA approval for initial eligibility; and forms (and a return envelope) for submitting additional or revised courses for evaluation. The NCAA's newly streamlined core-course review process is designed to aid high-school administrators in better advising prospective student-athletes so they will be better prepared to compete academically in college.
