The NCAA News - News & FeaturesJuly 8, 1996Murray State picked to host '97 rifle championships The NCAA Men's and Women's Rifle Committee will recommend that Murray State University host the 1997 National Collegiate Men's and Women's Rifle Championships.The recommendation was made at the committee's annual meeting June 13-15 in New Orleans. Murray State has hosted the championships four times, most recently in 1994. The committee also voted not to make any changes in qualifying procedures for the championships. The committee will continue to select eight teams to participate in each discipline. That determination was made based upon overwhelming results in a survey conducted by the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association earlier this year.
